BURN week 3- Simply Blown away

6/30/2018

Happy Saturday everyone. I always get a little nervous about taking my measurements to share with you all. I so deeply believe in this product I use and the journey it has led me on that I always want some positive results to share with you. So far this is more than what has happened. I am simply and utterly BLOWN away by this product. Let's cut right to the chase here with numbers:

Waist: 32.5 (down a half inch from last week)
Chest : 34 (again a half inch from last week)
Thigh: 25 (a WHOLE INCH difference)
Arms: 12.5 (half inch difference)

I often hear that my results are because I run. I want this to be VERY VERY clear. This is NOT because I run. It is because I am putting premium nutrition into my body and healing it from the inside out. Yes I am being smart (somewhat haha) of what I eat and the exercise I am doing. But guys......I EAT and I eat what I want to eat. The only thing I have fully given up is pop. And I think a year ago when I started that was a big factor in my weight loss. But I had tried time and time again to give up pop with no success. Day 1 of Thrive I had no pop and didn't have a headache. For me that is all it took to be hooked for life on this amazing product. To get that nasty icky stuff out of my life and out of my body was a huge WIN. And looking back to about 2 years ago now, I was running WAY more miles than I do now. It was just a couple years ago I logged 500 miles for the year. But I was even heavier than I was now. I was about 70lbs heavier and not loosing any weight no matter what I did. So I want to make it very clear that the running, while amazingly good for me, is NOT the reason I have been able to slim down and loose the weight. We still do slurpy Sunday's as a family and my mom still makes us home made cookies every week that we love. So this "program" as some call it, does not have an eating plan that you must stick to. If your goal is weight loss.....yes you may have to make some changes to what you eat. No matter what you do you may have to make these changes. And if you are not ready to make the changes then there will never be the results.

I am down 14 total pounds in the three weeks that I have been using BURN. Weight is not my goal in this product use. Toning down is. But for the sake of being open and showing my full results I am weighing myself weekly to give you all my true results.

This past year has simply been life changing. Mostly in the physical and mental aspect. This company and the people on our team have been instrumental in changing my life. This is so much more than a three step process every morning and it is so much deeper than that. I would LOVE to show you exactly what I mean. I am happy to answer any questions and if I don't know the answer I will find it!

Here is my video from this morning. My connection on my phone was not very good so it did cut out here and there. There was so much more I wanted to say but I would love for you to still watch and see me in the flesh :)

Have a wonderful Saturday and thank you for your continued support in this journey.

A Journey of Love- Part 1

6/27/2018

A journey of love. A journey to learn more about loving ourselves and in turn loving others. Often we are so busy that we disconnect. Both from ourselves and from others. We fill our days with so many "to dos" we don't take the time so sit, breath, and take it all in. This life....it is amazing. Even in the hard times. It is amazing. We are amazing beings and God knew exactly what he was doing when he created us. I often sit in wonder at the enormity of His ability. And to think that I am made in His image. That when God looks in the mirror he sees me and when I look in the mirror I see him.....that is the best way my brain can describe it. How utterly amazing is that? Yet we often don't love ourselves right where we are at. Along those same lines. The vision and purpose God has made for me is mine and only mine. Yes there are others who will be part of making the vision and purpose happen. But each of us were created with our own unique purpose. We need to OWN this. We need to realize that we do not have to live up to anyone else's expectation of who we should be. As their expectation is NOT who we are. That their expectation is based on their purpose and vision and ours is different.

To truly love and love deeply we need to start with self love. Self love is loving ourselves in this exact moment. Loving what we look like. loving our circumstances, loving even our bank account no matter how small or large that is. Realizing that our failures in the past is what makes us unique. That our past failures have shaped who we are and have brought us to today. And that our future failures will do the same. Accept them and love how unique you are. Realize that every day.....every single day.....we wake up ENOUGH. There is nothing to prove and what others think of us does not matter. I AM ENOUGH! Say that with me.... I AM ENOUGH! Let's tell ourselves that every single morning.

There are three different kinds of relationships we will have in our lives. There are Lifetime relationships. These are people that we will bury one another. That we are together and there for life. Then there are life giving relationships. These are ones that last form 1 day to 2 years. They give you life. They are people who remind you that you are still "in the game". They are full of energy and passion and bring you back to life. But these relationships do not last as they are so energetic that if we continued on forever with them we would burn out. Then there are purposeful relationships. These are full of a purpose. These people were brought into our lives to fulfill a need or purpose. Once that purpose has been fulfilled the relationship at times becomes turbulent. And the relationship is forever changed. This does not mean the relationship needs to end. But it may now have a different look, feel and even a possible different purpose. We need to understand these relationships so we understand that when a relationship ends. It does not mean we have to love ourselves less. Or blame ourselves or get down on ourselves. It is just that each person we have a relationship with serves a greater and larger picture in our lives. And often times we need to forgive and let go of the past relationships and realize they were there for a specific reason and that reason is now fulfilled. So continue to remember that we are ENOUGH and that our past relationships do not define us.

And once we learn to love ourselves and that we are ENOUGH (do you see a theme here? ) then our cup that is full of love starts to overflow. When that cup overflows we can then give our love to others. We need our cup to overflow so that when we give our love to others it doesn't take away from our self love and doesn't drain us. One of the biggest ways we daily can and do give love to others is by showing people our lives. Showing them our struggles but yet showing how much in love with ourselves and our lives we are. Because when we love ourselves and love exactly where we are at then others will see this and they will say "hey if they can do it.....so can I". Loving ourselves and our lives exactly where we are and showing others we know we are ENOUGH will give them the inspiration to start loving themselves and realizing they are ENOUGH and they can do whatever they put their minds to. That their dreams matter. That their purpose and vision is uniquely their own.

Do you believe you are enough? Do you love yourself for who you are? Do you believe your vision and purpose is unique to you? If not.... I highly encourage you to take time daily for yourself. Read, journal and pray. Start falling in love with yourself so you can have a cup that overflows to others. Our love is not just our own, but it is meant to be given away.

BURNING .....2 weeks in

Hey Hey! So two weeks into my 8 week journey using the DFT DUO BURN. And the results continue to be amazing. This past week I did a few days of arm and ab lifting (at home). And we just had a fun week overall. I did work a few extra hours to make up for some time I took off the week before. And I always give myself a rest from running leading into a 10K or longer race. So not much happened in the way of running.

This week was capped off by a 10K race on Saturday. It was amazing weather and so great to get out to race. Thinking back I don't feel I ever at any point on this course asked myself "WHY am I doing this". I have to say that is probably a first. And my training has not been in full swing like it had been over the winter and early spring so I thought for sure this race would be awful. But it wasn't! That was super exciting.

So here is this weeks results. Down 5 more pounds  and then I dropped 1/4 inch on my legs and 3/4 inch on my arms. I really want to get both my legs and arms more toned so I am excited about this. My chest and waist measurements didn't change this week. But that is ok.

My overall experience with burn has been amazing.  With fantastic results. I am excited to see what 6 more weeks brings! I am planning to get back on track with eating more proteins this week as well.I would love to hear from anyone else using BURN on what your results have been. Have a wonderful week and I can't wait to come share other thoughts this week with you.

Measurements:
Waist: 33"
Thigh: 26"
Arms: 13"
Chest: 34.5"

Part 3.....Abundant Life....Who is ready to get there?

6/22/2018

Today was an amazing training for abundant thinking and building an abundant life. I am so excited to share the information I took away from this for you all.

Let's start today by talking about more thoughts and pick ups from the past couple days and recapping, along with new takeaways from the past couple days that I hadn't posted yet.

To achieve an abundant life we have to live radical. Radical lives do things that others think is crazy. It could be as simple as getting rid of something that is costing you a lot to free up some money in your budget to get to where you want to be financially.

This was a big one for me.....DO NOT put a period in your story where GOD has put a comma. Its not over until we are dead.

Keep educating yourself. Learn all you can to get you to your dreams. Learn what those whom you look up to or who has the life you want to work towards did to get there. Education is KEY.

There is enough abundance for everyone. Just because someone has an abundant life does not mean there is not enough abundance for you. GO FOR IT.

Fail forward.....meaning when you fail, figure out how, where, what you failed at. Learn from it and put in place action steps to improve!

We talked about taking the stairs so we don't' get stuck on the mediocre elevator. Again....take the stairs. It may hurt. But if your abundant life is on story 32, realize the number of stories you have climbed toward that goal. You may have to stop to take a breath, or life may throw a curve ball that makes you pause your journey. And that is OK. Don't sit long... KEEP CLIMBING!

The nitty gritty of the day is our action steps:

1. Scarcity thinkers plan 30 days out. Abundant thinkers plan 3-5 years or more out! Do this with everything in your life: Spiritual, relationships, and monetary!
2.Forgive sooner, quicker and faster! Don't hold onto things. Let them go. Letting go, forgiving (not forgetting), will open up your heart and mind to more love and abundance. Holding onto those things we need to forgive only closes off our hearts, minds and lives to the wonderful greatness that is in store for us.
3.Last but NOT least. DO NOT DIM YOUR LIGHT. We all have a light that is shining. Some brighter than others depending on where we are in our journey. So do not dim your light so others feel comfortable around you. Don't bring yourself down to make the insecure feel comfortable. SHARE your light. Step into it, own it, and remember that your light is meant to be shared. It belongs to all those around you so that you can shine on and the lives that are around you will be changed by it.

Living an Abundant Life Part 2

Living an abundant life truly begins by changing ones mindset. So how does an abundant thinker think?

-An abundant thinker realizes that their action steps are based on and around what you are thinking about (positive or negative)
-An Abundant thinker realizes this journey is a marathon, not a spring. We think long term and realize that abundance isn't an immediate result
-An Abundant thinker doesn't spend time on penny tasks
-An Abundant thinker pushes to expand their comfort zone. We all have a line that is our comfort zone. Work daily to expand that line. Comfort zones set one up for failure
-An Abundant thinker is willing to fail. We do not plan to fail. Just willing to handle it if it happens. RISK IT ALL TO GAIN IT ALL....take a LEAP
-Along these same lines....everyone is hanging out in mediocrity. An Abundant thinker doesn't get on the elevator that stops at mediocrity. They take the stairs. Working harder but going higher than mediocrity.
-An Abundant thinker doesn't ask for permission to go after their dreams and goals. We don't have any issue with people saying we are crazy for chasing our dreams and we do not worry about others perception of our goals and lives. What they think of us...is none of our business.
-An Abundant thinker sets themselves up to be in a constant state of cognitive dissinence. Which means you see yourself further than what you are currently. Your mind won't settle and be calm until your actions meet what your goals are. For more explanation on this please do watch my video as it is a bit mind blowing.
-An Abundant thinker is grateful for your now but always setting yourself up for the amazing future.
-An Abundant thinker consistently hangs around people who make them stand on their tippy toes....in other words people who push you to be the best and achieve your goals. And people who challenge you.

Abundance is a 360 experience. Many think it is just about money and this is NOT the case. An Abundant life consists of:
-Spiritual Abundance
-Abundant Friendships
-Abundant Relationships
- The physical
-The emotional
-The Monetary

Please check out my video below for more in depth thoughts and explanations. I would love to hear your thoughts as well.

Living an Abundant Life

Are you living an abundant life?

I know for me I know there is more out there that I want to achieve. There is more that I dream of and more that I am passionate about. Does this mean I am not happy or that my life isn't crazy full or crazy blessed? NO. In facet it is quite the opposite. Living abundantly to me, allows me to bless others more and give more freely.

One of the first steps to achieving an abundant life is to change our mind sets. When we change the way we think it changes everything. Changing our mind set to one of abundance will change not only our minds, but our physical being along with so much more.

I would like to challenge you to think about something. Who determined there was a box to think outside of? Where did the term "think outside the box" come from? There is NO BOX. An abundant thinker realizes there is no box to think outside of. We realize we are free to dream big and follow our hearts. That we are good enough and perfect enough and we deserve these dreams to become reality.

So what are you so deeply passionate about that you want to go after?
What is it that you are good at that you can use to make your life abundant?

Please watch my 5 minute video below on this subject. I would love your thoughts and feedback and to see who wants to work on changing our mindset to then in turn change our lives!

BURN Week 1 Recap

6/16/2018

Hey friends! So as I mentioned last week I am jumping into my next 8 week full on journey to see where it takes me when it comes to my fitness and health.  This week was the first full week using the BURN DFT.

I am loving it. I have amazing appetite control. My cravings for sugary things is way less. And water intake has gone through the roof. This week was a very busy week of dog showing and working and while I am tired, I did not crash! And was able to still enjoy evenings with out being a zombie after the events. This is a HUGE win. For any of my dog show friends I am sure you can relate haha.

I have been drinking almost a gallon of water  a day this week. In fact I am WANTING water. And water isn't something I normally crave. I drink it as I know I need to and I drink it cause I no longer let myself drink pop. But I haven't craved it in the past other than after a run. And this week I have been. I have also been eating more veggies and one of my favorite summer time items.....watermelon. The diet side of my experience still is not where I want to see it in the end but I am making different changes each week to make it an end goal. This weeks was to focus more on the veggie and fruit intake along with upping my water intake.

Here are my measurements this week:
Waist- 33.5
Arms- 13.75
Chest- 34.5
Thighs- 26.25

And I did loose 5 lbs this week. Now I am not focusing on weight. I fully believe if we are happy with how the mirror portrays us and how our cloths fit I really don't need the scale. The scale is truly only a tool. Honestly an hour after I weigh myself I could be 5 lbs heavier due to water intake etc. It is such a hit or miss thing that is why I am not so focused on it at this time.

My plans for this week include continuing on the BURN DFT of course. But I am also going to get back into doing some lifting at home for weights. My hope is to do this Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Then I have a 10K Race on Saturday. After this race , and at some point on Saturday, I will give you guys another weekly update and let you know my next plan. As I am going to change a few things up with my running and goals there. Nothing drastic. So this week I also hope to keep up the water intake, good fruits/veggies but also add in more lean protein items like eggs, chicken breast and Fish. Do some more actual cooking (which by the way I hate to do).

Thank you for allowing me to share. If anyone has great, easy, and fast clean eating recipes I would love to hear them. Please share with me and comment below. Here is my video from today as well with my update along with more information on BURN.

I would like to even start an email update list. Please subscribe to the blog or reach out to me if you would like to be part of that. Happy Saturday all! Lets rock another week.

Who likes BBQ?!

As we approach Father's day I thought I would give my thoughts and review on what I got my husband this year for Father's day. I was reading the magazine "Magnolia Journal" on my flight home from Florida in May, after all who doesn't love Chip and Joanna?, and saw the product recommendation for Lillies Q sauces.

So when I got home I ordered some. We got the flavors of Ivory, ENC and Carolina. I have personally tried Ivory and Carolina. And both were fantastic. Ivory has a very unique flavor to it. I actually have a hard time placing a description to it. But it is very very good. The description on the website says : "sweet and tangy Northern Alabama original. We add a pinch of cayenne." I tried this with fish and it was delicious. It is not spicy either. Carolina was a sure hit favorite for me. It has a very nice smokey BBQ flavor but also is different from any other BBQ I have ever tried. I am going to give that credit to the Apple and Lime juices in it. This sauce is a must try in my book. The last is the ENC. This one I bought as it says it is HOT (and Jeff loves hot sauces)....the description right from the site: "This Carolina-inspired, traditional vinegar sauce is the hottest this side of the Mason-Dixon, and Lillie’s boldest creation. A blend of cayenne, red and black pepper bring the heat, while apple cider make E.N.C. just sweet enough on your favorite pulled pork" It takes quite a lot to get Jeff to say something is HOT but he did say this has a nice kick to it. I am sure I would be burning up if I tried it. Then for good measure I also bought the Carolina Dirt Rub. We put this on our fries. I very much enjoyed this on my fries. It was a nice change as it is not a heavy salt flavor but brought a nice robust smoke flavor to the fries. Another wonderful item I would highly recommend.

If you love to BBQ or have a guy in your life who does I would recommend giving some of these a try. Great price points around $7 a jar as well. Fast shipping and well packaged.

What are your favorites for sauces, BBQ, Fish or fries? After all it is grilling season!

A Little Can Go A Long Way

6/12/2018

I hope this post finds you all well. My coach (for my personal company) and also full time employer always does what he calls "Wealth Wednesday". This thought is that on Wednesdays to do something for a stranger that is kind of a "pay it forward" situation.

Buy their coffee, get pizza for the fire department, purchase the food for the person behind you in line, leave a larger than normal tip......the ideas can go on and on. The idea is to better someones day by giving monetarily in some way. And one act of kindness or giving can go a very long way. We do not know the persons story that we are helping. This person could be having an awful day, could be having a hard time, suffering from depression or just simply needs a blessing.

What if we ALL embraced this. Doing a selfless act for someone else. No matter the day of week. No matter the size of the act.

How could we change the world?
How blessed would you become?
How blessed would others become?

I can promise you....that if you give, if you embrace this, you will be blessed far more and far deeper than what you gave.

Please watch my video below for more thoughts on the subject. I also want to hear your stories. What did you do to give to a stranger this week? How did it impact your life and day? Please share. Lets change the world for the better one day and one person at a time. WE CAN be the change.

Struggling with Forgiveness

6/10/2018

Happy Sunday everyone. I have to admit that Sunday's never use to be one of my favorite days. For many years it was like "UGH do I have to go to church" (growing up more so than as an adult) and then even the past handful of years we would always say the night before "so....we going to church tomorrow?". Like we wanted to go .....yet didn't. That has all changed over the last few months for us. To the point where I often will feel, if I am at a dog show or out of town for something, that I am missing a vital part to my week. It is a wonderful feeling. There was NOTHING wrong with our past church. Just was time for us as a family to move on and try something new. One of our goals this year was to get Jayden to actually LIKE going to church. And it happened! He will ask, with excitement, if we are going.

This weeks topic was forgiveness. And before the message even started I was saying to myself, I hope the idea of Forgiving is forgetting is brought up! I have always struggled with that. I am not sure if it came from my home church or where it came from exactly, but I always felt that if you forgave and truly forgave you then FORGOT the issue. And gosh did I struggle with this. To the point of wondering "why can't I forgive?" Then the light bulb went on this morning.......I AM Forgiving when I tell people I have forgiven them!

Here are a couple of my key take-away:

-Forgiveness is not approving of what happened
-Forgiveness is not forgetting! (please listen to my video below to hear the longer thought behind this).
-Forgiveness is not ceasing to feel the pain

But forgiveness DOES allow us freedom. Sometimes we have to keep forgiving even the one action that happened as there are things that remind us of that time, action, or situation and we have to choose to forgive again. But ultimately the end justice is in God's hands.

There are more ideas of what Forgiveness is and is not in my video below. Please take a look and let me know your thoughts! I would also love to share with you the link to the full message if you would like it. Please also feel free to leave me comments on there.

Ephesians 4: 31-32 "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
